CES is the global stage where next-generation innovations are introduced to the marketplace.

For its 54th edition, CES Las Vegas is expecting more than 4,500 high tech companies exhibiting from manufacturers, developers and suppliers of consumer technology hardware, content, technology delivery systems and more, on a 200 000 square meters ground: The Las Vegas Convention Center. Besides, CES features a conference program with more than 250 conference sessions. An average of 170,000 attendees from 160 countries come each year to the event.

Technologies from different industries

Each year, leading brands and innovative startups come to CES Las Vegas to show brand new revolutionary products using breakthrough technologies.

For instance, Samsung never disappoints and unveiled during last year’s edition its new foldable screens, and its ultra-thin borders-free 8K QLED TVs.

A growing number of car manufacturers also come to the CES Las Vegas to show their latest technologies. From BMW to Fiat, Valeo to Continental, car manufacturers are emphasizing their technological progress on the CES stage, with a recent focus on on-board electronics, driving simulators or “intelligent assistants” integration. The trend remains, however, the development of autonomous vehicles, whose software or prototypes are improving in reliability.

The Downtown Project, Las Vegas $350M bet

#downtownproject #Accelerator #Startup

The Downtown Project, created in 2012 by Tony Hsieh, aims to completely reinvent downtown Las Vegas by attracting startups. 30 hectares of land in the center of Las Vegas, this is the basis of the Downtown Project, which today brings together startups operating in different sectors. These startups are mostly supported by The Mill, an idea accelerator from Las Vegas which invests $5,000 a month in innovative ideas, products or companies. The Mill Startup Accelerator helps seed-stage companies focused on developing an exceptional customer service culture. On the other hand, the VTF Capital (VegasTechFund Capital) supports the Las Vegas tech community by investing in promising startups, from Los Angeles to New York, including food delivery service Thrive Market and daily fantasy platform FanDuel. About a quarter of the companies it has invested in since then have roots in Las Vegas, including The Mill, or Rolltech, an app company for bowling enthusiasts and social media company Banjo and Local Motors.
